Scientific Employee (m/f/d)
The salary will be up to Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L (100%), if the personal requirements and tasks are fulfilled.
Tasks:
• Bioinformatic Analyses: Conduct bioinformatic analyses of 'Omics' datasets, particularly from Illumina and Nanopore sequencing, in the domains of Genomics and Transcriptomics. Our research group focuses on various aspects of gene regulation, particularly in the realm of alternative RNA processing in plant systems (https://doi.org/10.1101/2023.09.19.558503, https://doi.org/10.1105/tpc.18.00244,
https://doi.org/10.7554/eLife.37078, https://doi.org/10.1105/tpc.19.00214).
• Sequencing Libraries: Plan (and produce) sequencing libraries for various research questions.
• Data Management: Assume responsibility for efficient data management related to conducted analyses and experiments.
• Teaching and Supervision: Develop teaching materials for German-language Bachelor's programs and English-language Master's programs, supervise student theses.
• The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work towards their habilitation.
Requirements:
• Education: Completed scientific university degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related fields. The applicant must hold a PhD.
• Experience and Publications: Demonstrated experience in the analysis of transcriptomes/genomes, documented through publications (preprints or in internationally recognized journals).
• Research Interests: Independent research interests in the field of gene regulation at the RNA level.
• Research Projects and Proposals: Willingness to contribute to ongoing research projects. Independent development of innovative research questions. Readiness to draft personal research proposals.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams and communicate scientific results clearly.
